Is it bad for her to be eating too close to bedtime? Is this bad or not i need advice?
The actual dinner time is not bad in itself but no one is supposed to eat within three hours of sleep. It won't do any actual harm but it will mess with her metabolism. The important thing to watch for is what you are feeding. Try no to give her anything that takes along to digest or something with a lot of sugar (for obvious reasons). You can't really change what time she eats so just watch what she eats.Is this bad or not i need advice?
When we are going to have a late dinner I just try and make sure my kids have a snack (fruit or carrots or something easy but not sugary) and then I don't feel so bad about dinner running late and they don't either. Sometimes I bring a snack with me for them to eat in the car on the way home.
The only problem with having food close to bedtime is if she is waking up and seems to have acid reflux. If not, if she seems happy, then no problem.
If its at all possible she should eat earlier than that. Is she at daycare till you pick her up? do they offer dinner there?
If you can't help than .. you can' help it. Does she have to have a bath everynight? My sons only have baths 2 -3 times a week (unless they are really dirty!!)
I know its hard after you work all day, to come home and only have a few hours with your kids! Its tough. You can always cook dinner in a crock pot .. so then it will be ready for you when you get home. Or have it prepared then all you need to do is pop it in the oven.
I am sorry that you can't feed her earlier! Its hard when you have odd work hours!!
good luck!!!
I don't think so. My children usually eat between 5 and 6. It just depends on what time my husband gets home when he's working day shift. If he is on a shift that puts him going to work at 4 in the evening then we have dinner around 5. The kids play then have a bath around 6. They play and wind down, watch TV, the baby is in bed by 7 and my 3 yo is in bed by 8.
I think it would be worse for her if she didn't eat at all right? My kids get a late dinner too because of my work schedule...but it is not like they fall right to sleep, right. Maybe they sleep better with a full stomach...who knows. We do the best that we can and move forward right. If we just do a little better than our parents did...we are moving forward and progressing. (probably just don't give them too many carbohydrates so close to non-movement as sleep).
I do the same for a few years. My son is 3 now and my daughter is 7 year old. They have dinner about 6 ish and have a bath around 7:30 to relax..... and watch a little tv......
It's fine for her to eat that close to bed... my concern is this: Is she spending enough time with YOU before bed? Dinner and a bath isn't much time....
how old is she? no its not bad
i cant see any think wrong with it
