No, it's not. Your idea might have been very good, but one thing is how YOU think you would react and a different story is how other people react. You only wanted to help and the fact that your friend took your advice means he also thought it was good, but........ didn't know how the 3rd person would react. Unfortunaltely for the 2 of you he/she had a different reaction from your expectation. no you were caring giving advise but you can't always predict how things will go.just stay caring and do your best
