Well, my female friend today brought up her late mother when we were talking, told me she missed her. I hugged her and said nothing, i was speechless! I am never speechless. What do i say when put in a position like that?Need friend advice, put in a bad spot.?

Just what you did... nothing. You can always tell her you love her and wish you could take away her pain. But you are there to comfort her in any way you can and even cry with her. If you are old enough and close enough ask her if she would like to go to the cemetary to put some flowers on.

A child who loses a parent too soon in life has to be a very painful thing to process. You should ask her to tell you a funny story about the parent so she could laugh and then maybe cry.
